Tamara and I share a bond. We're like two scrappy prize-fighters who never give up fighting for the integrity of our profession. I look forward to working with her again soon. -- Ted King (SOD 08/14/2007)

That “squeeeeeeee” you hear is me! Finally we get a good view of Ted through a lighter set. That Paris studio did nothing for him. All I could say was, “Blair, for crying out loud. Let him in!” She finally did and the blue of the walls in Dorian’s living room just brought out the blue in Ted’s eyes. Swoooooooon. I’m still not liking the choppy way ONE LIFE TO LIVE is being done these days. While it takes THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS forever to tell a story, at least Stephen Nichols‘ scenes as Tucker McCall are longer than Ted’s and we get a little more grounding in terms of exposition. With the way OLTL is done, it leaves little for the viewer to actually sink their teeth into before they’re onto the next bit of action. My only suggestion to the powers that be at the show, settle down and tell a story. Don’t rush it. Allow the actors some time to breathe.
My apologies for not having the media up for yesterday’s episode, but again I was having converting issues with THE PORTAL MEDIA site. I finally was able to upload and have the full clip convert. So here’s the screencaps and clips for Ted’s last two days. The other issue I was having was with the recording program I use. I noticed once I had the screencaps for the 21st up they were really washed out and I’ve had to do a lot of tweaking with the settings to get a good quality recording with a warmer feel to the source for the screencaps and the clip. I tried doing this with test recordings from the show during the week before Ted’s debut, but until they showed his set, I couldn’t get a good handle on the colour and brightness. I record and clip and cap up Stephen Nichols work on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as uber tycoon Tucker McCall, and for some reason the way they tape the show it’s always warmer and I can get the setting perfect for perfect colour and effect. For some reason, I’m still having issues with Ted on ONE LIFE TO LIVE. I have a feeling until they actually bring him to Llanview and have him on some of the other sets that are brighter and more colourful, I’ll have to wing it day-to-day.
OKay, what’s the verdict? Do we like Tomas or not? I know I do. I love how quirky Ted is playing him. I don’t really think I’ve seen as quirky a character on any soap before. I don’t count Spinelli (Bradley Anderson) on GENERAL HOSPITAL because that’s just a little to way out there for me. I get the feeling he’s channelling Chad Lindberg who played Ash from SUPERNATURAL. You know Ash, “All business up front, party in the back.” But for me I love how Ted’s starting to build Tomas. I love the name too. Only the second Tomas I’ve loved. The other is Hugh Jackman’s Conquistador in Darren Aronofsky’s masterpiece, THE FOUNTAIN. When I heard the name I thought, “I love him already.” Yeah, I’m fickle. So do you love Tomas? About the only quibble I have with ONE LIFE TO LIVE so far is how quick the cuts are and how very short the segments are. One can’t get intimate with the characters or the scene due to how rapid fire they are. I guess I was spoiled back in the day on scenes like the gut wrenching courtroom scene with Judith Light when she played Karen Wolek when she told how she killed Marco Dane (the late Gerald Anthony) when Marco raped her. Ted’s scenes overall have been good, but I’d like to see some lanquishing a bit to get a feel for the character and a little longer exposition. THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS though takes its time to get a storyline told, is very good at giving us a little more grist to sink one’s teeth into. Okay, enough of my exposition. You want the goods…..

EW magazine is apparently reporting and SoapCentral is confirming, that Ted has signed with the ABC soap opera ONE LIFE TO LIVE as an unnamed character to be involved with the character of Blair played by Kassie DePavia. Ted’s first airdate has been scheduled for January 21, 2011. My guess it’s so he and Maya and Ava can make the move to New York where OLTL is taped. This is very good news for Ted’s fans as we get him back on our screens. Keep an eye out here for more news as it’s reported. And don’t fear, I’ll be doing up Ted’s episodes for the site. Whew, between Ted and Stephen Nichols who’s currently playing uber-tycoon Tucker McCall on the soap opera THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, I’ll be one busy girl. Now if Tamara Braun decided to come back to daytime, I’d really be snookered.
